You can get to know the Balearic Islands by visiting its rural areas, mountains, beaches, towns and villages, whilst also enjoying the archipelago's weather and conversing and spending time with its people. However, one of the best ways of discovering the Balearic Islands is the local food.
The region and the people of the Balearic Islands' skilful labours and expertise leave a distinguishing mark on the islands' food products.
"Mouth-watering agrotrails" is a project that has been developed by the Balearic Island Department of Agriculture and Fishing, aimed at familiarizing people with food products that have been awarded a quality designation by visits to the places where they are produced and/or made.
The "mouth-watering agrotrails" project enables people to visit the islands' producers, look round their production facilities and find out the characteristics of the food they make by speaking to the actual producer.
Using the maps of the islands, you can select visits by choosing a specific type of product or geographic area, and visit the producers during the indicated opening hours or by appointment.
